SHINA Association (TZ) was inaugurated in August 2006 as a non-governmental organization (NGO), with it's offices based in Dar es Salaam.

The field study showed there is much need for assistance to widows and single parents.  To enable this group start micro businesses, SHINA Inc funded a seminar on “How to do it Right”.  At the end of the seminars, the participants were asked to submit Business plans.  In turn they were given capital assistance and follow up will be every six months. The empowerment of these women will go a long way to help them be self reliant.

EDUCATION FOR HIV/AIDS ORPHANS, STREET AND ABANDONED CHILDREN

Like any other part of Tanzania, HIV/AIDS orphans are many.  Some of them do not qualify for assistance from big donors for one reason or another. 

There are also quite a number of destitute/street children.   SHINA Inc was able to assist some of these children with school uniforms, shoes, bags, exercise books, bus fare and mosquito nets.  The funds were entrusted to their respective school headmistress who ensured that each beneficiary received the items they required.
